A Dogs Life
Way back in the nineties, I was working most evenings performing magic around restaurants and bars in London. This led me to have my daytimes free, so to use the time wisely I joined an 'extras' agency. I only did three jobs in the end, and each one of them turned into something a bit more than I expected. The first wasn't an 'extra' job at all but a small cast of 'features' for a four day shoot on a beach in Swanage. Dressed as Butchers, we run around the beach every day, each with our very own (very well trained) dog. I recall that the dogs and their handlers got to stay in the better hotel and that it was a baking hot week. I got chatting to the owner of the company and he kindly put me forward to be in the 'still image' for the bus shelter and magazine advert. All in all it worked out to be a very good gig.
